Hi Lisa,

Just reaching out to you to thank you for all you did this semester.

You were an amazing instructor always providing with feedback on how we can improve, I feel as though you taught us a lot of useful information even just within the one semester.  Communications was a class I think we all looked forward to going to, even with all the presentations!    Thank you.

Hello Lisa,

I just wanted to take the time to thank you for the awesome course. I found it to be very engaging and your enthusiasm really helped make the content exciting and really got me thinking about all the cool ways I could market bike frames.

Thanks again and I look forward to the rest of the ATBS.

Take Care

Good morning Lisa,

I wanted to thank you for such a great semester. I learned so much from this course that I know I will use throughout my future career. The course assignments and quizzes were relevant to what we had learned and really helped me to gain a better understanding of each aspect, you made learning so easy! Thank you for sending out reminders when work was not complete— I really appreciate it and I was happy to have the chance to still submit my work.

Hi Lisa,

It was a great semester.  Thank you for imparting your knowledge and skills with us. I have learned a lot. I can say that my biggest learning achievement from this course is that I was able to create a cover letter and resume by myself. I remember 10 years ago, when my husband was looking for a job and he had to make a cover letter and resume.  He didn't have any idea how to do it, so he sought a company to do it for him and he paid arm and leg for it.

Anyways, thank you again and I hope I can still come to you for some advice. Have a great one.

Hi Lisa,

I had my interview for the position ... at NSCC last Monday.  At least two of the panelists' questions were similar with our assignment in Interview Questions. They.... emailed me again on Friday and informed me that they have created the position (with the approval of their Director) of Administrative Assistant because according to them, they were so impressed with my resume, cover letter, interview, skills, and experience.

I have excitedly accepted the position.

I cannot thank you enough for your guidance, support, and inputs especially in making my cover letter, resume and interview questions.

Again, thank you very much, Lisa!

Hello Lisa,

I know that you're probably super busy, but I wanted to send you a quick email to thank you for all the work you have done this semester.

As of right now, I have just submitted my assignment 11 and wanted to let you know that I have so enjoyed being your student. I have been looking forward to all the assignments, all the quizzes (even though I don't test well), and all the discussions. I feel like I really got a lot out of your class and my only regret is that we were online and not in person! I feel like I would have really enjoyed sitting in your classroom.

Especially the last few assignments, regarding preparation for the job. Honestly, looking for a new job right now terrifies me..... I must admit that even thinking about a new job sends shivers down my spine.

The work that we have been doing in your class, however, is making me feel a lot better. After these assignments, I'm starting to feel a little more prepared and a little more confident and I have you to thank for that.

I'll be applying for an administrative assistant job at NSCC in the coming days and I don't feel as much of the fear as I did a month ago.  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Your hard work is deeply appreciated.

All the best and I hope you have a great summer

Hi Lisa!!

I wish you a great school year, I’m sad I won’t have any future classes with you, but I wanted to wish you the best! You made a positive impact in my life and will always be grateful for coming across a teacher like you!

Hi Lisa,

I just thought you might like to know that because of the assignment where we interviewed individuals in our field of interest, I landed a job interview.

So, if anyone ever doubts that the hidden job market is real and an asset, I am living proof right now that it works!

...As someone who hasn't worked in a decade, I'd like to thank you for teaching me how to style my resume in such a way that I caught their interest enough for an interview.

Thanks Again!

Hi Lisa,

I had my interview for the position of Special Projects Assistant with the Academic Development Department in NSCC last Monday, April 19th. At least two of the panelists' questions were similar to our assignment in Interview Questions. They called me last Thursday and informed me that I didn't get the job because I was "too honest" and undersold myself. However, they emailed me again on Friday and informed me that they have created the position (with the approval of their Director) of Administrative Assistant because, according to them, they were so impressed with my resume, cover letter, interview, skills, and experience. I have excitedly accepted the position and will begin my internship with the Department of Academic Development on May 3rd.

I cannot thank you enough for your guidance, support, and inputs, especially in making my cover letter, resume, and interview questions. Again, thank you very much, Lisa!

NSCC Course Feedback forms.

  1. Lisa is a great teacher. She really wanted us to learn and apply that knowledge in a real workplace setting.

  2. Lisa is an amazing instructor. She cares about her students and wants them to succeed. NSCC is lucky to have her.

  3. This course has taught me a lot about proper workplace communication methods and how to apply them. Lisa has been extremely responsive and helpful during this year and has taught me tons of applicable workplace knowledge.

  4. Lisa is absolutely amazing. It's a pleasure going to her class; really great atmosphere! She goes above and beyond to help her students. She knows the coursework and is always there to help! It would be great for everyone if she comes back next year!

  5. We are currently still learning in this course. My faculty is great in exploring and explaining when we have questions on something. Lisa is a really good teacher!

  6. Lisa is a fabulous teacher and a huge asset to NSCC. She makes everything super simple to understand and is always available for help when needed.

  7. Lisa made this course very hands-on. Her assignments provided necessary skills that will be essential once I'm done with school. For example, the marketing strategies plan and presentation. I struggled with certain aspects of these assignments, but I needed to be pushed outside of my comfort zone. She provided detailed assignment instructions, valuable feedback, and continuous interaction with students to ensure we were successful.

  8. Loved this course and the instructor. Her course delivery was awesome, especially with the video lessons. She was very positive and encouraging. Even if you got something wrong, she gave positive constructive criticism. Hoping I have another course with her in the future.

  9. I was a bit nervous about taking this course as I feel communications is not one of my strengths, but I really enjoyed this course. Lisa was always posting videos, which helped me put a face to my instructor and feel more connected. I really appreciated the work that we did on cover letters, resumes, and interview preparation—something I know will be of use to me in my future for many years to come. I was also surprised that I didn't mind the presentation portion of this course! By completing a proposal letter and research report, the presentation naturally followed. Since we were required to have visual aids with the presentation, I felt much more comfortable than I would have been making a video presentation without them. Thanks, Lisa!

  10. I cannot stress enough how wonderful of an instructor Lisa is. She went above and beyond by continuously interacting with us through discussion posts, detailed assignment feedback, and my favourite—numerous videos of her explaining the topics and sharing her own stories. She made this course feel as if I were sitting in a classroom being taught by her. Her method of teaching made the material very easy to understand and also made her courses very enjoyable. Lisa—I had you for two courses this semester, and I have all my fingers crossed that our paths will cross again. I had a rough time last semester, and you have made me enjoy school again. Thank you!
