COURSE DESIGN

I design my courses with a focus on learning outcomes and objectives, ensuring that every lesson, activity, and assessment aligns with NSCC’s goals. The workplan is structured for clarity, and I distribute evaluations evenly across all outcomes. Using scaffolding, I build lessons to prepare learners for assignments and evaluations, promoting self-directed learning and experiential activities relevant to real-world business scenarios.

For example, in my Communications course, assignments are scaffolded to meet NSCC’s outcomes-based education standards. Early assignments focus on writing business emails and letters, then scaffold toward career research, targeted job search documents. The course culminates in a Mock Interview and Research Report. This structure ensures students gain both foundational skills and real-world applications, evaluated across all learning outcomes.
